Wednesday's With Nature's Blessings Stamps - Dog's Tooth Violet

I wanted this week's card to be more rustic and work with mixed media.  I love the way this card turned out.  It is different than what I've been creating lately.

This card uses some old patterned paper scraps.  I tore the top and side of the paper to reveal another patterned paper underneath that matches closely with the card base color.   I used my Simon Says Stamp dies to cut the greeting banner, and a Papertrey Ink die for the flower background piece.

To create the flower, I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then used my Faber Castell watercolor crayons to color in the image.  I needed to add a couple of layers to deepen the color and give it the shaded effect.  I topped the image with Glossy Accents to deepen the colors and their shading.

I added some splotches of Mister Huey's (custard I believe), and some copper Stickles glitter glue here and there for little accents.  I stamped the greeting with a Studio Calico stamp (I think) and finished with a gorgeous olive colored silky ribbon.

Wednesday's with Nature's Blessings Stamps - A Queen's Thank You

This week I used the "Queen's Herald" stamp again.  I stamped it in rose red Stampin Up ink and colored it with my Copic markers.  I was a little worried that the ink might bleed but I think it did fine.  Even though I played with this week's image a little bit more (i.e., using my Copics) I still feel like I can make this sweet bunny even cuter.  I will have to give it another attempt soon.

I hope you enjoy this week's card.  I wanted to use a bold color since I've been using a lot of muted, pastel shades lately.  I also love being able to add lace and a button!

Wednesday's With Nature's Blessings Stamps - Happy Easter

This week I used the "Queen's Herald" stamp.  I knew the moment I saw it that it would make a very fun and unique Easter card.  After a few attempts at a card idea that wasn't working out, I pulled out a piece of vellum and tried stamping on it.  Then I had the idea of embossing it with copper embossing powder.  These stamps are so detailed that I am astonished at how well it came out.  (I definitely recommend using a detail embossing powder if you try this yourself.  You will get the best image.)

The embossed copper looks cool and has excellent detail but still does not match the beauty of the original stamp image.  Next week I will feature another card using this stamp so you can see the inked image as well.

Wednesday's With Nature's Blessings Stamps - Our Story Is Just Beginning

This week I chose the Books stamp from Nature's Blessings Fine Art Stamps toBesid create a card.  I love the greeting "Our Story Is Just Beginning" that I added using BasicGrey alpha stickers.  That can apply to many occasions like anniversary, new relationship or just sharing a book with a loved one! I used my gorgeous Staedler watercolor crayons and a water brush to color the stamp image.  I find coloring to be so therapeutic!

It was fun to think of all the ways you can use this stamp, but this card was fun because (1) I got to color! and (2) I was able to use up many scraps of paper and little embellishments that I had laying around on my desk.

Do you have any other ideas on how to use this stamp?  I have a few, so expect to see more of this stamp in the coming weeks.

Wednesdays With Nature's Blessings Stamps

Welcome to a new weekly blog series!

I have recently collaborated with an Etsy seller called Nature's Blessings Fine Art Stamps.  They are a newer stamp company with some absolutely stunning stamps with plans for growth.  They have agreed to send me a few stamps for me to play with!

The first one I chose to create with is Peony and I love the way this card turned out!  I used a ton of Copics on this so it was a true pleasure to color and create!

Copic colors used:  0, G43, G82, G99, BV0000, V06, V15, V95, W1, W3 and W5

Here's my card:

(sorry the colors didn't photograph well.)

I'll be sharing another card using Nature's Blessings stamps next Wednesday.  If you like what you see, please comment below.  It would be a pleasure to keep working with Nature's Blessings, and leaving comments is a good way to let them know if my work will be helpful for their business.  Thanks!

MOXIE FAB - Use Your Punch in an Interesting Way Challenge

I created two cards for the Moxie Fab card challenge utilizing punches.

"You're Special" utilized a cupcake punch and a circle punch.  The little cupcake bottoms were run through a paper crimper to mimic a real paper cup liner.

The second card "Birthday Wishes" uses a circle punch through some bold stripe patterned paper that was backed with solid cardstock.
