LAYOUT SHARE: So Loved and Swimming Lessons

I took a break from card making this past weekend and made two layouts just for fun!  I really enjoyed it!

That has put me behind in posting and sharing new cards, and also to work on the surprise video I mentioned in my last video.  I have taped the surprise twice and am just not happy with the quality (lighting issues, mainly) so I will be filming again in better lighting and will get that posted soon.

In the meantime, here is what I created using Studio Calico's Blue Note Scrapbook Kit from December, 2013 which is still available by the way.  Just sayin!

Title:  Swimming Lessons

Title:  So Loved

You can't see it from the photo but the three leaves under the title are sprinkled with Diamond Dust and they sparkle just like crushed glass....so pretty!

LAYOUT SHARE: Family and Me @ 13

I know it's been a very long time since I've blogged -- Sep. 2012 to be exact.  No big reason for it other than giving myself some down (away) time.  I am going to start the blog posts again because I love looking back on it to refresh my own memory.

So, this week two layouts to share.

Title:  Me @ 13
This is a page of me with my hair cut very short snuggling with our new lab, Mandy.  This would have been in 1985.  I used a bunch of new Studio Calico kit items mixed with some very old Sassafras Lass stickers, and old chipboard flower accent and the lime green flower.  Love finding ways to use the old with the new.

Title:  Family
This is a layout of most of my family (my side).  Missing my niece, Sara.  I tucked a tag behind the photo with full names of each person so there is a record of who is who for future generations.  I am not good at providing these details because *I* know who everyone is.  I don't think about the future generation who might see my scrapbooks.  So, yeah, super brownie points for me on this one!  Old supplies, the house stickers.  Had no idea how I'd use these but I've really liked them.  It just worked so well with this photo.  Love.

Basicgrey SKETCH CHALLENGE: Cousins Make Life Sweeter

I always have great intentions on getting these completed and submitted on time but often they never make it online by the deadline.  I still love following sketches though so I was excited to jump into the Basicgrey sketch challenge this week.  The Clippings paper was perfect for this week's sketch!
Title:  Cousins Make Life Sweeter

Supplies:
paper (BasicGrey Clippings)
alpha stickers (BasicGrey Ambrosia and Marrakech)
kit (Studio Calico-Central High) (tags, badge, ribbon)
marker (Zig)

LAYOUT SHARE: Explaining Algebra

Another quick and easy one.  Used some Studio Calico kit bits and the star is an old Scenic Route journaling tag.
Title:  Explaining Algebra
Journaling:
It's been a long time since we learned Algebra so we are doing some re-learning as we try to help you understand your homework.  The look on your face here is so much like the way you must feel. "Ugh!"

LAYOUT SHARE: Sumo Suit

This layout came together so easily - love that.

Title:  Sumo Suit

Journaling:
They rented this suit at Dad's work picnic. Your head barely made it above the collar! So cute! Summer 2011

Used up some older supplies on this one along with Studio Calico kits County Fair (blue paper), Brooklyn Flea (red paper and alphas), and star rub ons.

LAYOUT SHARE: First Real Watch

I took this photo on the bus on the way home.  My son was so excited that he had to open up the watch, try it on and set it immediately.  It was too cute of a moment not to capture.

Title:  First Real Watch
Journaling:
A quick trip to Target and you spotted the watches and asked to pick one out.  You said it was your first real watch.

Used just a few bits and pieces of Studio Calico kits + some of my old stash (Scenic Route flower, Sassafras grey button (I think).

LAYOUT SHARE: If I Could Bottle You At This Age . . .

This page is a mish-mash of recent Studio Calico kits.

Incidentally, this photo was taken last year at the Memorial Day parade!

Title:  If I Could Bottle You At This Age . . .
I used old Making Memories felt alphas (blue), and old black alphas (not sure manufacturer).

Journaling:  You are so cute, still tell me "I love you" and hug me every morning.  You are proud of growing up, looking for signs of puberty and showing me how tall you're getting and the muscles on your arms.  It's so fun to see you at this age!  (10 years old)

LAYOUT SHARE: Beautiful Girl

I created this page using Studio Calico's April kit add-on, Versailles

Title:  Beautiful GIrl
The circle tag on the bottom was old Cosmo Cricket I think, the flowers were old BasicGrey.  I added Stickles to the flower petals at the top so they have a gorgeous sparkle.

The journaling is tucked inside of the envelope at the bottom.

LAYOUT SHARE: Riding Bikes

I created this layout using Studio Calico's April kit, City of Lights
Check out that bicycle stamp I used across the middle.  (One of the reasons I'm addicted to Studio Calico -- their amazing exclusive stamps for kit subscribers!)
Title:  Riding Bikes
I added some old Theresa Collins bracket paper, a Basic Grey border sticker, and some old black alpha stickers I've had in my stash.

Journaling:  This is how you looked on any given Saturday.  You would ride up and down the street and I'd usually be there with a watchful eye.  This is your second set of bikes and you were so proud to show them off!  Right now I'm trying to build endurance on my bike so we can all go biking around Madison.

LAYOUT SHARE: Why Fit In

I originally created this for a Dr. Seuss challenge but, as often happens, I did not get it posted in time.  I still love the way it turned out and am happy to share it here.

Title:  Why Fit In
A fun Dr. Seuss quote:
Why fit in when you were born to stand out?

Supplies:  Studio Calico kit Story Hour (March 2012), plus a few alpha stickers and a couple rub ons from my stash

LAYOUT SHARE: Getting Braces

Another layout this week using the March, 2012 Studio Calico kit "Story Hour."  Photos of my daughter getting braces last year.

Title:  Getting Braces
Journaling:  You were so excited to get them.  It was
June, 2011 and we had Bella sitting in the stroller watching.

You can't tell from the photo but I added Glossy Accents to the diamonds so they have dimension and shine.

LAYOUT SHARE: Katerina Rose

Made with the March, 2012 Studio Calico kit "Story Hour", a layout using my daughter's photos taken when she was just a few weeks old....13 years ago!

Title:  Katerina Rose
The only old product used here were the red flower stickers...believe those were from BasicGrey.

LAYOUT SHARE: He Cares

I used a bunch of my Studio Calico kits in this one, trying to use up some of the past kits so I can prepare for the new ones.  I created the red chevron by cutting out a bit of that yellow patterned paper beneath and painting it red.

Title:  He Cares
Journaling:  It seems like everywhere he goes he gives his time and talent to others.

Kits Used: Daydream Believer kit (chevron paper, fabric scallops), Brooklyn Flea (alphas, people border strip, button), Field Guide (tape), and Lawn Party (flag)

Old supplies:  October Afternoon label sticker, Heidi Swapp photo corner.

LAYOUT SHARE: Smores

A picture of our chicken Smores when she was just a few months old.  I used some Studio Calico Glee Club kit product and added some very old Tinkering Ink rub ons (flowers) and a tag I've had for about a year and a half.

LAYOUT SHARE: Bella

A photo of my niece in June 2011.  I used paint and Stickles glitter glue on these chipboard butterflies.  Sadly, the paint I wanted to use was completely dried up so I can to use what was still wet and mix them together to make green.  That is how long my paints have been sitting around.  It was good to use them again!

Title:  Bella
